The upgrade went smoothly, but I've been getting some weird permission errors when trying to do things like delete the MS Intellipoint folder. I loaded the disk (IntelliPoint 6.3)that came with the mouse to upgrade my Intellipoint software so I could use all the features of this new mouse. The guy added that I am not the only having this problem and MS is aware of it. But this did not help either, error 1603 persisted. How to fix? Reason: Additional Info ....my get-up-and-go musta got up and went.... navigate here

  1. The drive that contains the folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package to is accessed as a substitute drive.
  2. Reinstall the latest MS .NET Framework 3.
  3. Click Change Permissions.
  4. Later".
  5. I've tried to use both, and gotten the same results.

I found several things to try in order to get the software to install. 1. I asked them to escalate the issue (I have now two of this kind!) to a SW development team to come up with a clear definition what error code 1603 contains I tried going online and to download from there...same thing.I am running XP Ver 3. I waited to do the Win 7 upgrade until I was on vacation this past week.

The system returned: (22) Invalid argument The remote host or network may be down. I'm still not able to delete the folder and get the message "You'll need to provide Administrator permission to delete this folder". The drivers are good, but I think there is some setting or other issue with my install (and others as well, judging by the number of complaints I've seen while researching check that I also told them that I am not going through a Clean install and destroying everything because of a stupid error code 1603 which by the way is not defined.

At this point I am working with MS Support on the issue withou success so far. Drivers Intellipoint driversAnybody else having trouble with the newest Intellipoint mouse drivers? I added the Admin.

I have since purchased a new mouse, thinking if it said it was Windows 7 Certified, all would be good.

Please let us know how it turns out if you do a clean install. This is also the only board i've seen that's actually discussing the issue haha. How should I deal with a difficult group and a DM that doesn't help? I the checked the permission on the last folder and found that no administrator permission was there so I added it with full control.

It's got to be some service or other important system file that is wrong. There will be a solution at some time in the form of an update or a new mouse driver version in the future.
