As explained later, or somewhere else, one drive was marked with an error after a crash and re-building the RAID fixed it. So basically I noticed the problem when I overclocked my system to 3.5Ghz, which I think was stable as I ran prime95 for a good 13 hours. It couldnt start the archiver and the system froze. I don't understand what Apple is doing (since that is the only software affecting this) to interfere with the Intel storage drivers in a RAID setup! It should pick the drive & array config up from data stored on the drives themselves. That will be a lot to download but I don't see an option, I'm going from Vista 32bit to 8.1 64bit. If the problems persist after all this please reinstall the operating system with the latest floppy RAID controllers (F6 drivers).
