New hard drive and a clean install of Windows were required to get a working computer back. +++++ If you have the recovery disks to start a clean install of the Several functions may not work. The HDD OEM and Dell diagnostics both pass the drive without error, so I'm not leaning towards that.

Internal HDD HARD Error!Did you get any solution for this ? my review here Thanks for your time. You can open up the laptop and find what manufacture made the drive, then go to their website and download the diagnostic tools to test it. This works provided you have a way of getting the data off of the drive quickly.All you have to do is freeze the drive for about 30 minutes.
Complete all the diagnostics and note down the error code. If not there is no legal way of downloading it from the net. I am a retired Ford tech. click site I presume you still have the Microsoft key on the laptop case?
I've ran OEM diagnostics on the HDD's and they all test without error.
