i too am running a drupal site out of a subdirectory before it goes live on another server, and that advice finally made the homepage come back online without the 500 click site Actually it killed the whole site. I removed the plugin and have spoken with both the plugin developer and GoDaddy...both sending me to the other to each other to resolve the issue. You (hopefully) saved me a lot of troubleshooting! Five hours later, all pages on my site are loading in less than five seconds on average. Not sure why, but it seems GoDaddy doesn't do a very good job of monitoring those on shared web accounts. But through the years (and downtimes, and client calls, and fires in server rooms, you name it), I've come to find HostGator to be the fastest WordPress hosting I've experienced.
